As a composer and bandleader, Scott Pinkmountain has played garage-funk with the trio Eyes; avant-rock with elements of Afro-psych, vintage soul, and Krautrock with the large ensemble Scott Pinkmountain and the Golden Bolts of Tone; heavy freak rock with PAF and Pink Mountain; as well as solo acoustic songwriting.

He has recorded and performed extensively in the U.S. and Europe with leading lights of contemporary music, including Anthony Braxton, Pauline Oliveros, Sam Coomes, Arrington Di Dionysio, Jacopo Andreini, Gino Robair, Phil Minton,  Jaap Blonk, Tim Daisy, Nate Wooley and many others.
